Post MBA career moves can be very competitive. When you are apply for an MBA Job, whether thats a London MBA Job, an MBA Jobs further afield in the UK, or e.g an MBA Job in Dubai you have to be prepared for the interviews.
- Try to establish if any of your fellow business school graduates are working in the same company and make contact with them to ascertain the core skills and experience required from an MBA graduate.
- If it is an MBA programme within the company - it is probably quite high profile and so you should ascertain whats involved and what it takes to succeed in the programme.
- For MBA jobs in particular e.g. an MBA job in consulting you have a case study interview. For MBA case study interviews there is a lot of information online - be sure to research it and practice it. If you havent done so already check with your MBA school career advisors how best to prepare.
- As well as MBA case studies, prepare well for strategic questions about the company and the industry. If it is a marketing job give plenty of time to researching how the company positions itself, its competitors and other marketing related stratgic factors
- All the other core interview norms still apply - leave plenty of time to ensure you are not late; make sure you know where you are going; who is interviewing you; what they do; the nature of the role and the requirements expected of the candidates.
